EBC's rides are unique our rides are for charity, unlike many other local events which are for profit.  EBC itself is a non-profit and the charity for this event will again be Achilles International's Freedom Team of Wounded Veteran hand cyclists.

The Freedom Ride is the ONLY ride where your dollars actually help the very people who sacrificed for our freedom, the very people with whom youre riding along, side-by-side.  These handcyclists served our country and now face the challenges of their changed lives.  We also require that Achilles spends your donation in your community where we all live and ride. For a life-changing experience, you can even sign up to buddy with a handcyclist for the event.

Family members, friends and all are invited to the FAMILY FESTIVAL at the Speedway event site. Enjoy musical entertainment while visiting our sponsor booths full of great information to continue or start a healthy lifestyle.  FREE Children's activities will include:

  • STRIDER Obstacle Course:   These no-pedal bikes are designed to teach tots as young as 18-months old to learn balance, coordination and confidence on a bike.  Local Strider dealer Greg Thek of Two Wheel Tykes will provide the no-pedal bikes and helmets and guide kids thru the fun obstacle course.
  • BIKE RODEO for KIDS:   The great folks at University of Miami's BikeSafe program will set up a bicycle safety skills course for children thru middle school.  It's a great way to teach kids how to ride a bike correctly using proper hand-signaling and coordination.  You must bring your own bike and helmet to participate.  Bikes and helmets will not be available.
  • BICYCLE HELMET FITTING:   Be sure your helmet and your children's helmets fit properly to avoid injury!  SafeKids Miami Dade of Miami Children's Hospital will be on hand to fit your helmets for maximum safety.
