2018 SEBRING WEEKEND GETAWAY

Everglades Bicycle Club announces the 32th Annual Sebring Spring Break Weekend from Friday April 27th thru Sunday April 29th.

Come and join us for a weekend of riding, eating, socializing and generally hanging out with your “newest best” friends before the onslaught of the Florida summer.

Friday's ride is a 63 mile route through the countryside south and back up through Lake Placid. This is a supported ride with a rest stop and roving SAG vehicle
Saturday's ride is 55 miles up to Lake Reedy and back through Frostproof and Avon Park, or 100 mile century up to Bok Tower in Lake Wales and back down.

Sunday's ride is out to Highland Hammocks State Park and (if you want more miles) down to the Henscratch Winery area for a 41 mile ride. This ride is not supported.
We will also have routes of less than 30 miles for those who want less mileage. There's something for everyone! This ride is not supported, but the routes are marked.

Supported rides have a rest-stop supplied with a variety of fresh fruit, energy bars, wholesome foods and of course, the ubiquitous Gatorade. On-call SAG is also provided for the supported rides.

Our host hotel is Inn on the Lakes Hotel, the highest ranked hotel in Sebring.

The mainly flat to gently rolling terrain is a far cry from the craziness of urban Miami. The weather usually pleasantly warm at this time of year makes it a joy to be on a bicycle.

The social headquarters is the highest rated hotel in the Sebring area, the Inn on the Lakes, providing a base of operations, from initial signing-in to the start and finish of all rides. There is likely to also be lazy lolling in and around the pool, the imbuing of liquid libations and sometimes even worthwhile conversations taking place. Room rates are $112.00 per night with an upgrade to $116.00 for a lakeside view. Request two queen beds or a king bed.

For reservations please call the Inn on the Lakes at 863-471-9400. Make sure you let them know you’re coming for the EBC Bike Weekend! The block of rooms are reserved through April 12, so reserve before then. Otherwise you will have to pay the full rate, if available.

So, bring the kids, bring yourselves, bring everything but your stress, come and relax around the pool of the Inn on the Lakes Hotel. Tell all about the day’s follies and foibles, make them up, tell giant untruths, (everybody else does) and let your cares and woes drift away amongst the scent of the orange blossoms.
