gravel rides

Looking to get into gravel bicycling? As in EBC’s 40+ year road cycling tradition, EBC will help you learn to ride on trails with a group, trail ride safety, and etiquette.  We also give you a chance to socialize and stay fit on your gravel bike.  EBC has trail rides every month. We usually offer two rides of different distances.  A gravel ride could be on a trail, path, gravel road, levee, dirt road, or any combination of these.

There are many other gravel rides that EBC gets involved with.  Stay tuned!

Many thanks to the Rails to Trails Conservancy for their support.

The Rails-to-Trails Conservancy transforms unused rail corridors into vibrant public places — ensuring a better future for America made possible by trails and the connections they inspire.

COME PREPARED

Please come to the rides prepared to take care of any potential mechanical problems. Each rider should have a small saddle bag filled with the essentials:

-1-2 spare tubes
-tire levers
-a universal tool with Allen wrenches
-a small pump or CO2 cartridges.

CHECKLIST TO RIDE WITH US

Please come prepared before you join our rides–it is part of being a smart cyclist!

  • Helmets are required on all EBC rides
  • We suggest that you bring 2 water bottles–1 for water and 1 for a sports drink.
  • Make sure you have the basic tools needed to replace flat tires.
  • Make sure your tires are inflated to the correct PSI (usually listed on the tire sidewall. Wet conditions call for lower tire pressure).
  • Make sure that your bike is in good working condition, you have visited a mechanic in the last 90 days for a tune up and you check it after and before your rides.
  • Headphones and ear buds are not allowed on any of our rides.
  • Highly recommended, but not required, are gels, energy bars, or other nutrition of your choice.
  • We recommend you have breakfast before your ride focused on carbs. This will provide you with enough fuel during your ride.
