I am insured with USAA. Last week I discussed my coverage with one their its representatives. She said that my bicycles are insured under my homeowners policy for damages or loss arising from intentional theft or a third party's negligence. She also said that the automobile policy provisions of Uninsured Motorist will cover my wife and I if injured because of the negligence of the driver of a vehicle. This coverage applies if we on on a bicycle as well as on foot or in a vehicle. PIP and medical payment provisions will cover us as well regardless of the vehicle's driver's negligence. I do not know if the terms of the USAA insurance policies are the same as your insurance company's, but it is worth checking out.
