MONTHLY CLUB MEETINGS

Location: EMPIRE LOUNGE 2nd Floor 5920 S Dixie Hwy Miami, FL 33143 (Free Valet Parking in back of restaurant or at Mack Cycle across US 1)

We will be enjoying the company of Miami Pace with Pizza and sodas provided by Mack Cycle. We have lined up as guest speakers Mickey Witte, MariaLuisa Hoover, Cristina de Molina Ramirez, Michaeal Hoover and Xavier Falconi, who took part on the GEICO Road Safety Bicycle Tour (April 8-11). They will be sharing with us their experience to raise awareness for roadway safety. Commissioner, Jose Pepe Diaz will be attending. He'll be briefing us on a recent Resolution approved by the Commission supporting legislation that will de-incentivize drivers from leaving the scene of a crash. The Resolution was forwarded to Tallahassee.

MAY -- EBC REGULAR WEEKEND RIDES!
Looking to get back into cycling? Want to bike with a group, learn group cycling safety etiquettes or simply socialize and stay fit on your bike? EBC has group rides every weekend at 7:30 AM (Get there early). Dates are listed on EBC Weekend Ride Schedule Page. Check it out for the latest and full details on each ride. Or become an EBC member and we will send you the newsletter directly to you once a month on all events in and around Florida.

Are we looking for a faster more skillful challenge? Join one of the NEW Advanced, Leader-Led, 18-22 MPH rides being piloted at EBC in May! We have a ride for everyone now from beginners through 22 MPH, longer distance cyclists.

Thank you to Arpad Hevizi and Juan Alban for their dedication and perseverance in accomplishing our first pilots of the Leader-Led, Advanced Speed and Cycling Skills ride, out of City Hall on Saturdays! The rides will leave from City Hall @ 7:30 AM---same routine as other rides—be there early to sign waiver and hear the advanced tutorial. The ride will go to Deering Estate for a short break, then to Blackpoint (no stop on the way down) and then further south for an estimated 55 mile ride at speeds of 18-22 MPH. This ride is for experienced cyclists who can maintain 20+ MPH and have been riding in groups for at least 1 year. Advanced Paceline, Drafting, Strengthening and Skills will be emphasized. AND like all EBC Leader-Led rides---safety is our # 1 concern. There will be 2 ride leaders for each ride. Spread the word to all the teams!

EBC SUNDAY LEADER-LESS RIDE!
Every Sunday Rides depart at 7:30 AM SHARP from Ponce de Leon middle school in Coral Gables.

Most riders head north to Miami Beach and further north, some up to North Miami Beach and even to Hollywood. Some split at Key Biscayne. This is a leaderless ride, so no ride releases, no leaders, just show up and ride. Experienced cyclists welcome with a pace of 17+ MPH. Address is 5801 Augusta Street, Coral Gables FL, 33146. Park your cars parallel to US 1 in front of the school.
